CASE STUDY GE AEROSPACE IMPROVES PRODUCTIVITY AND QUALITY WITH VSM The main goal for GE Aerospace is to prepare for a higher volume of samples while maintaining consistent, high-quality preparation. In order to gain a full overview, GE Aerospace partnered with Struers to use the LEAN VSM principles to map the current state of the sample preparation process during an on-site laboratory visit. This process identified several value-adding proposals to improve the preparation process. The partnership with Struers will ensure that the proposals are tested and verified before implementation into the current process to secure a smooth transition. Fresh eyes from subject matter experts ensure new perspectives on the process. Technical capabilities are validated before implementation to ensure the integrity of the current process. Inputs from daily process/lab employees identify possible improvements.
